Your Wedding Checklist

12 Months before YOUR wedding

  • Announce your engagement to your family and friends and start your planning of an engagement party
  • Check with you local paper for an engagement announcement
  • Sign up for a wedding website to keep you guests informed about event details, area information and to help you interact with them
  • What’s going to be your BUDGET
  • Wedding Planner, Planning software, Wedding Planner/organizer Book, etc… Planning and organizion is a key to a successfull and stressfree wedding
  • Wedding Date – always better to have a few choices
  • Location, Location, Location “Ceremony and Reception”
  • Guest List with phone numbers and addresses
  • Choose maid of honor, best man and wedding party
  • Search for a Wedding gown
  • Attend local bridal shows
  • Did we say a Wedding Planner/organizer Book! Keep everything in one place.

6-9 Months before YOUR Wedding Day

  • Research and choose one or more bridal gift requstry
  • Choose your wedding gown and undergarments
  • Order all other bridal accessories
  • Begin to shop for bridesmaids dresses
  • Find an officiant who will be performing your ceremony
  • Researching Ceremony musicians, Wedding band, DJ, Photographer, Videographer, Caterer, Florist, etc.
  • Check Websites, Facebook pages, blogs and schedule appointmentst

4-6 Months before YOUR Wedding Day

  • Order your wedding invitation, envelopes and your “thank you” cards
  • Purchase your wedding favors and accessories for favors ” boxes, ribbon, labels, etc”
  • Purchase any desired ceremony and reception decorations “unity candles, vases, aisle runner, reception decor, etc”
  • Start your research on wedding cakes. Look at pictures online and at local bakeries for ideas
  • Research and book you honeymoon and verify that you have any and all neccessary travel documents “Passports and Visas”
  • Book your wedding night room if you will be leaving for you honeymoon the next morning
  • Select and book hotel rooms or arrange accommodations for out of town guest. ”work with a hotel to get a group rate for your guest”
  • Finalize your guest list and send out Save the date card
  • Provide guest with directions to ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner and hotel for guests
  • Comple a list of area information and thing to do for out of town guest “Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg has an assortment of things to do”
  • Research and reserce transportation for you and your wedding party

2-4 Months before YOUR Wedding Day

  • Check on your state’s requirements for obtaining a marriage license
  • Order the tuxedos for the groom and groomsmen
  • Meet with your caterer “River Plantation Conference Center & Catering” to dicuss menu and any other needs
  • Meet with your officiant to discuss ceremony needs, details, wording, and wedding vows
  • Select wedding readings
  • Order your wedding cake
  • Buy your thank-you gift for your attendants, flower girl and ring bearer
  • Select your gift for your new spouse-to-be
  • Select and purchase wedding rings, you may want to have them engraved
  • Coordinate and choose a location for the rehearsal dinner
  • Contact party rental companies for tents, tables, arches, linens and anyother specialties that you may need
  • Check on Specialty servies – Ice sculptures, photo booths, etc.
  • Select and purchase luggage and other travel necessities and attire for your honeymoon
  • Passports – Order/renew if necessary, make sure to leave ample time for them to be sent back to you

1-2 Months before YOUR Wedding Day

  • Mail invitations our to everyone eight weeks proir to the wedding date
  • Send the accommodation info to your out-of-town guest
  • Compile and complete name change documents
  • Fill our a change of address form at the post office
  • Pick up your marriage license
  • Have your ceremony programs printed
  • Purchase a guest book, pen and other wedding and reception accessories – toasting glasses, cake knife, ring pillow, etc.
  • Check and make sure your wedding website is updated with directions and event details
  • Research and choose your hair and makeup stylists, schedule a trial if necessary
  • Make your appointments to have your hair, make-up and nails done on the day of the wedding
  • Review any insurance information with your fiance and check with employers to see what documents need to be updated

2-4 Weeks before YOUR Wedding Day

  • Make your seating chart for the reception and make table number and place cards if required
  • Contact your Caterer “River Plantation Conference Center & Catering” with an updated final guest count
  • Print out a timeline of events for you wedding party and vendors – Include contact information and cell phone numbers
  • Meet with your photographer to finalize your wedding photo list of any must-have photos
  • Contact your florist to confirm your final flower irder, make sure to go over any decor details or venue logistics for the wedding/reception
  • Finalize your ceremony and reception music and song list for your wedding band/DJ
  • Confirm your lodging reservations
  • Place a wedding announcement in your local newspaper
  • Plan a bridal luncheon or dinner with your bridesmaids
  • Pick up your wedding bands and make sure they fit
  • Schedule a final wedding dress fitting
  • Write rehearal dinner toasts

ONE Week! before YOUR Wedding Day

  • Pay for the balance of your vendors
  • Pick up your wedding gown
  • Confirm limo or other transportation reservations
  • Pack for your honeymoon and confirm travel arrangements
  • Have your post office hold mail if necessary
  • Trreat yourself to a spa day

The Day before YOUR Wedding Day

  • Welcome out-of-town guest
  • Attend the rehearsal and enjoy the rehearsal dinner
  • get to bed early

YOUR WEDDING DAY!

  • Wake up early and do some exercise or take a nice walk
  • set some time aside before the festivities to share gifts with your bridesmaids or close family members
  • Eat a healthy breakfast
  • Enjoy your Day, With well planning your day will go smooth and Congratulations!
  • P.S. don’t worry about the little things, just have fun and enjoy the day.
